Meet the Team
Michael has over 20 years interior design experience and established Harpers Interiors just over 18 years ago. Clients love his natural charm and easy manner. With a meticulous eye for detail, Michael loves creating stunning residential interiors with an authentic quality that reflect their owner. He also relishes the opportunity to indulge his creativity on commercial interior projects. Michael’s real skill however, lies in his ability to balance aesthetics and function without compromise; overseeing all of our design projects ensuring they fit the client brief whilst achieving our timeless signature look. When he isn’t sourcing new products, designing custom cabinetry, or meeting with clients, you will find him spending family time with his son boating on Lake Windermere.
Responsible for the day to day running of our business, Dan has a calm and considered approach. Before joining the business, he held a number of senior positions in I.T. within the construction and energy sectors where he focussed on large scale programme and project management. Dan manages our larger projects and provides support to the rest of the team throughout all stages of the design and implementation process. He has great relationships with our suppliers and trades teams and enjoys working with them to deliver a quality installation for our clients. Outside of work Dan has his private pilots license and loves to fly, time and weather permitting!
Claire has recently joined our team, bringing a strong background in design, product development, and project co-ordination. In her role, she primarily supports Dan with project management while also assisting the Design team when needed. Highly organised, efficient, and a great multi-tasker, Claire has a keen eye for detail and a positive, can-do attitude. Her experience and passion for design provide a strong foundation for her role. Outside of work, Claire is a busy mum to two teenage boys.
Following a successful internship with Harpers in June 2021, Annabelle joined the team permanently in May 2023 after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Interior Design. We first met Annabelle while working on her parents’ beautiful home, and ever since then she has dreamed of working in this industry and has developed a real love for the creative process.
Annabelle is passionate about her role and is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable member of the team, with a calm, organised approach to her work. With a talent for scheme creation, impressive visuals, and detailed floor plans and cabinetry drawings, Annabelle takes great pride and enjoyment in seeing a design concept evolve from the initial brief through to implementation. You may also recognise her from our installation days, where she assists with styling and accessorising before handing over the space to the homeowner.
Outside of work, Annabelle enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, good food, and walking her dog, Nelly.
Eleanor has recently joined our team, having previously worked as a Junior Interior Designer with experience across luxury residential and commercial projects, as well as exposure to the office fit-out sector. This varied background has given her a strong understanding of both creative design and practical delivery.
She holds a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from Northumbria University, where she immersed herself in a vibrant and creative culture before returning home to York after qualifying.
Her favourite part of the role is watching ideas evolve, from early sketches, material explorations, and concept boards, through to detailed space plans and 3D visualisations. She particularly enjoys being on site, collaborating with the wider team, developing her knowledge of the technical build process, and seeing designs come to life. Eleanor finds working closely with clients to create their perfect interior spaces incredibly rewarding.
In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, or heading out for a run — often accompanied by her slightly crazy cockerpoo, Billy!
Emma joined the team in 2021 after a successful career within a law practice, bringing with her a strong foundation in communication, and attention to detail. As a qualified Interior Designer, Emma has a natural flair for design and a talent for creating beautifully considered schemes that are tailored to each client’s needs. Her in-depth understanding of the design process—combined with a clear grasp of the various phases of an installation, makes her a highly accomplished member of the team. Organised and creative in her approach, Emma plays a key role in delivering projects from concept through to completion. Outside of work, she is a busy mum to three gorgeous boys and a passionate supporter of Huddersfield Town Football Club.
An integral part of the business, Karen Works closely with the whole team. Her support behind the scenes ensures the business runs smoothly and effectively aiding the timely delivery of each project while keeping our suppliers and contractors happy. In her spare time Karen loves foreign travel and enjoys live music gigs.
