Award Winning Yorkshire Interior Design Team Harpers Interiors end 2018 on a high

31 January 2019

It has to be said that we were a little sorry to wave goodbye to 2018. It proved an amazing year for us, having worked on many exciting projects, meeting and working with inspiring people and culminating in achieving a second prestigious Northern Design Award win in November

Our commercial interior design work on The Arborist, Lindley, gained us the Northern Design Award for Best Restaurant and Bar under £250k. A fully project managed scheme, from planning to delivery, we have turned this unloved terraced retail unit into a bar with real ‘wow-factor’.

Not only did we secure an award win, we were also shortlisted as a finalist for the Northern Design Awards Residential Interior Design Project category for the second phase of our work on a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian property set in 58 acres of Yorkshire countryside.

The sympathetic refurbishment of a master bedroom, bathroom and dressing room, was something our whole team found an absolute joy to be part of. The project afforded us the opportunity to commission contemporary artwork, bespoke furniture, and use our highly skilled local craftsmen. The brief for a ‘current’ but not ‘trend led’ feel makes the most of the building’s stunning architecture.

Our success at the Northern Design Awards has also generated a number of exciting commercial opportunities that we can’t wait to begin working on.

As busy as we have been creating dream interior schemes for our customers, we’ve also been busy back at team headquarters and in May we appointed new director Dan Roberts to oversee the day to day running of the business. Dan’s appointment has given our design team the ability to focus mainly on the creative aspects of the interior design process, allowing more time to spend on the finer details such as sourcing hand-picked interior accessories and finishing touches for our customer’s beautifully designed homes.

We’re excited to see what 2019 brings!
